Bear sightings and behavior

Recently there have been at least three sightings of a bear around Lynx Lake, which of course is not totally unusual.  What is unusual, is that the bear has been hanging around close to cabins and is not scared off by the sight of people, or by loud noises.  The DNR/USDA has been contacted and they have asked that we track the bear sightings, (date/time/place), and note if there is unusual or threatening behavior. If the DNR/USDA believes the bear is a threat they will attempt to trap it and relocate it to a national forest. Lake resident Geoffrey Simmons has volunteered to compile the sightings and report the information to the DNR.  He can be reached at: g.huntington.simmons@gmail.com
