On May 27, Lynx Lake Conservation Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Estelle Byrnes.  This scholarship was created in 2019 to be given to a deserving graduating student at Lakeland High School residing in the townships of Presque Isle or Boulder Junction pursuing their further education in the fields of conservation or environmental studies. The recipient is determined by Lakeland High School based upon their character and interest in conservation.

Estelle is our first recipient. She will be pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. While at Lakeland, Estelle was involved in Environmental Club, Art Club, and played on the Soccer and Volleyball teams. In addition to her school activities, Estelle volunteered at the area food bank. Estelle is a life long resident of Presque Isle and her mother, Bonnie, is a full time resident on Lynx Lake.

The Foundation wishes Estelle the best as she pursues her degree and her future career in conservation.
