Update on Carlin Lake Association lawsuit

The following is from the Carlin Lake Association…
Hi Friends of Carlin Lake—
The next step in Trig Solberg’s continuing challenge to county zoning regulations has been set:
A hearing with Judge Nielsen at the Vilas County Court House in Eagle River on Friday, March 27th at 1:00 pm.
Judge Nielsen will receive and rule on the recommendation made by the county Board of Adjustment at a hearing last November.    You will probably remember that the BOA voted then, unanimously and for the second time, that pumping water from the Carlin Club property for commercial bottling was not legal and not allowed.     Plus, the board spent almost three hours in closed session, carefully responding to the judge’s instructions, point by point.
Of course, the scheduling of this next hearing seems not to be in our favor, because March is the month that many northern residents have headed south toward some warmer weather.    And in earlier hearings, the judge has definitely been aware that the many observers in his courtroom oppose the proposed water business.
Might you be able to attend the hearing on March 27th?   Might you be able to invite other friends who share our opposition?   Please feel free to forward this email.
We believe that even during March in the Northwoods, we will be able to fill the seats, and let Judge Nielsen know how important his decision is.
(Below, I am attaching links to two recent articles from the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post,  giving national attention to this same issue of protecting ground water.)

Our most sincere thanks, for your continued support!
Carmen Farwell, for the Carlin Committee
